Brenham FCCLA recently competed at the Texas FCCLA Region IV Conference in Galveston. Grace Edmunds and Emily Figueroa placed 3rd in the Life Event Category. Their project focused on a trip to Costa Rica that doubled as a mission trip and senior year trip. Ruth Ann Kettler, Sadie Kwiatowski and Addie Thielemann placed 1st in the Chapter Service Project Portfolio category. Their project has been the Cub Couture Closet, which helps students with the financial burden of prom. Both teams will advance to State which will take place in Dallas. Texas Region IV officer Chelsie Chavez hung up her officer hard hat after helping orchestrate the Region IV Conference. Chelsie worked tirelessly this past year representing Brenham FCCLA and Region IV.
Career and Technical Education programs are dedicated to preparing young people to manage the dual roles of family member and wage earner. CTE programs enable students to gain entry-level employment in a high-skill, high-wage job and/or to continue their education.
