Jillian WilkeBrenham Junior High Principal

Mrs. Wilke has a passion for learning, education, and inclusion. She has previously worked as an elementary teacher, department chair, Assistant Principal, and the principal at Brenham ISD's Early Childhood Learning Center. Mrs. Wilke has most recently served as the Principal of Krause Elementary School. She has been in public education for over 15 years and finds much joy in watching engaged students learn and grow as individuals. As someone who truly believes in being a lifelong learner, Mrs. Wilke has finished her doctoral coursework and is currently completing her Record of Study at Texas A&M University.

Your input as parents and community members is essential to the success of students, the campus, and the district as a whole. There will be numerous opportunities for community involvement throughout the year and Mrs. Wilke will constantly work with you to become partners in your child’s education.

Will is a fifth-generation Brenham Cub. He holds two degrees from Texas A&M University; a Bachelors of Science in Leadership (2019) and a Masters of Education in Educational Administration (2024.) He has spent the last five years teaching social studies and AVID at Brenham High School. Will and his wife Emma live in Washington County with their two dogs, Happy and Honey. He is honored and excited to be a part of the administrative team at Brenham Junior High and looking forward to another excellent year.

Jessica Lewis, a Brenham native, has over 13 years of experience in education. Her roles have included serving as a math teacher/team lead, as well as an instructional coach. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and Principal Certification from Sam Houston State University. She furthered her academic pursuits with a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M University. 

Throughout her years in education, she has served in the Brenham, Hempstead, and Waller Independent School Districts, each experience shaping her into the educator and leader she is today. She is excited about returning to the community and district that she calls home, and eagerly anticipates collaborating with stakeholders to ensure an exceptional education for all students.

I am excited to begin another amazing year in education at Brenham Junior High! I earned my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University–Commerce and my Master of Education degree from Sam Houston State University. I hold lifetime Texas teaching certifications in Grades 1–8 Reading and Self-Contained, along with Reading Specialist and Dyslexia certifications.

Over the years, I have served as an ELAR teacher, interventionist, dyslexia specialist, instructional coach, and now as the 504 and Testing Coordinator. I truly enjoy working with students and staff and helping them have the support they need to grow, succeed, and reach their goals. I look forward to another great year at BJHS!

A lifelong resident of Brenham ISD and a proud product of its school district, with 20+ years of experience, Ms. Hinze has previously worked as an elementary teacher, high school teacher, instructional coordinator, college instructor, junior high teacher, and department chair. She is vested in the thriving of our community and is devoted to building and maintaining her wonderful hometown by growing ALL of Brenham's students to their fullest potential. 

She holds a Master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor's degree in English literature from Baylor University.  She enjoys reading all genres, watching any documentary, any good college, junior high, or high school football game, and traveling anywhere.
