Michael Ogg is a third-generation educational leader who is passionate about helping children to be their best. Michael states that "Being an educator means that you leave a lasting impact on the lives of those you serve." His mission each day is to leave a positive impact.
Michael has served as an assistant principal and principal at Krause Elementary School and a principal at Aikin Elementary in New Caney ISD before becoming the principal at Alton Elementary School in 2010.
While many educational leaders began their journey in the classroom, Michael started his career not as a teacher but as a maintenance crew member for Gilmer ISD. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University, Michael began his teaching career as a fourth-grade teacher in Athens ISD. During his four years in Athens ISD, Michael taught fourth as well as fifth grade. He then moved to Montgomery ISD where he taught third and fourth grade while also beginning to work on his Master's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. After graduating with his Master's degree, Brenham ISD hired him to be the assistant principal at Krause Elementary.
Michael and his wife Becky have two daughters, Shelby and Cora, who both attend schools in Brenham ISD. In addition, the family loves to swim, travel to the Texas coast, and take care of their two sweet canine children, Bella, Gretchen, and Harlow.
"I come from a long line of educators in my family, so I guess you can say that education is in my blood. I cannot see myself doing anything else, and it has been an honor serving the children and parents in Brenham ISD. I look forward to continuing to serve Brenham ISD and helping each child to reach their full potential." - Michael Ogg.
