It is very important to the staff at the ECLC that all students arrive on time each day.  Daily attendance ensures that students will participate in all of the engaging and exciting lessons of the school day.

LATE ARRIVALS:

Each day, student learning begins promptly at 8:00.  Students may be dropped off no earlier than 7:30 a.m. for breakfast.  Your child will be tardy if they arrive after 8:00 a.m.  If you would like your child to eat breakfast at school, please be sure to bring them between 7:30 - 7:45.  Breakfast is served until 8:00, afterwards they will be counted tardy in class.  Breakfast is free for ALL students!

ABSENCES:

If your child arrives after 10:00 a.m. they will be counted absent for the day.  Please call the school office 979-277-3770 in the morning by 9:00 a.m. each day of your child's absence to report why they will not be in school.  Please send a note, preferably a doctor's note, when your child returns to school.  If you email the note, please send it to arobinson@brenhamk-12.net and svera@brenhamk-12.net.  If you do not call or send a note, your child will be counted unexcused.  If your child misses more than 5 consecutive days, the district does require a doctor's excuse.  

EARLY CHECKOUTS:

If your child is checked out before 10:00 a.m. they will be counted absent.  Any student that is checked out after 10:00 a.m. will have a partial day absence.  Please send a the doctor's note the next day.

FAMILY EMERGENCIES:

If you have a family emergency, please call the office in the morning.  When your child returns to school, send a written note explaining the absence.  The registrar will then be able to determine if it is excused or not.

FAMILY VACATIONS:

Please plan your family vacation during the summer, Thanksgiving, winter or spring breaks.  All absences for vacation during the school year are unexcused.  Please send a note to the principal prior to the vacation date, indicating the date(s) your child will be absent and the nature of the unexcused absence.
